Hi everyone,

What i need to upgrade GTC to APU?

Exist documentation or TCTO for this tape upgrade?

How many total man hours is expected for this operation?

I read about KIT PN LE49000-507 ready to installation. This kit is completely and contain APU or i must buy separately?

Thanks for the help

Best regards

M.

Thank you for answer but there are too general information.

What is the different between GTCP-85-180 and GTCP-85-180L?

The GTCP-85-180L is for older C-130 who had GTC?

These APU  have another air inlet and exhoust and pods? Anything else?

Brochure was pretty straight forward (not trying to pick on the OP) to me. Basically higher output bleed air, ATM and motor eliminated and larger capacity generator mounted on the unit. Replacing the GTC with an APU more or less.

Both of those exec's on the brochure are former C 130 Marines

Probably my question is't clear and you wrong understand me. I ask about different between GTCP-85-180 and GTCP-85-180L. Not between GTC and APU :)

Brochure don't say about different between GTCP-85-180 and GTCP-85-180L... You write different between GTCP-85-71 and GTCP-85-180L.

In a both (GTCP-85-180 and GTCP-85-180L) is ATM and motor eliminated  and is this same capacity generator.

GTCP85-180L is valid model no for E and H model aircraft, as well as the modified GTC aircraft. Part numbers differ because the -185L used in the upgrade has intake screen rotated requiring relays and other parts to be repositioned.  This means changes to the wiring harness and fuel, oil and pneumatic lines.

GTCP85-180L come with part numbers 381116-1- 3/5/6/7/8/9

Bill.

Interesting to note that the APU could be run inflight (except on commercial Hercs), but not serviced inflight while the GTC could be serviced inflight but not run inflight.  Anyone else see the irony here?

I would recommend contacting Kellstrom Defense Aerospace, Inc., 3701 Flamingo Road, Miramar, FL 33027, Phone Number               954-538-2000. They have sold installation kits to some of the customers who come to CAE Tampa Training Center for initial and refresher training. They seem to be happy with the kit installation.

One point of contact I have for Kellstrom is Terry Gray, [email protected]

Good Luck
