hello all, with the absolute wealth of knowledge of all the members of this great website, I have an idea and would like to get some feedback on this: instead of retiring all the F-15's and F-16's, why not have the Boeing and the Lockheed Martian companies restart the 15 and 16 assembly lines to produce 'new build' acft to replace the 'high time' acft. The new fighters can receive all mods to have them all up to date. Instead of having the USAF having only the F-22,just have a few sqaudrons to serve along side the 'new' acft.It would create a lot of jobs in the civilian sector and keep all those flight and maint crews in the service.

Hello All, My friend referred me to this site to try to get some help/advice on my little dilema I'm having. I am currently a C17 Loadmaster and want to get to AFSOC on 130s. I've wanted AFSOC since I joined, but got screwed out of that deal (read profile). Being a loadmaster has gotten me back to being a bit closer to getting to AFSOC, but there seems to be some troubles. My chief contacted AFPC again for some info, this time they came back saying there's no known "pathway" from 17s to AFSOC. They told me it'd be best to try to get Jmodels at Dyess or Ramstein and then get picked up for AFSOC. I've heard debates on where Jmodels actually were, etc. Now, I know …

Hey guys, I know I have mentioned this before but figured I would toot the old horn again for a good cause. The M1's for vets program was started by JJ O'Shea, a civilian who has never served, but felt he needed to do something to provide a "Thanks" to those of us who have gone into harms way and didn’t come out the other end whole and complete. In a nutshell, what he (and his organization; http://www.m1forvets.com/Home_Page.php ) does is to collect donations of money, parts and whole rifles to present to damaged vets (mostly M1 Garands but they also accept and present 1903’s, 1917’s and M1 Carbines) to allow them to have some kind of contact with other v…

Down here I work as a volunteer, helping veterans get the entitlements which of course is a minefield. However I am pleased to advise that the benefits down here, appear to be clothed in less red tape that in the US Forces. I am assisting a Australian lady who still is an Australian citizen, who was married to a US Army veteran, and he died some three years ago from a condition that may or may not be service related. The US Government sent a head stone for his grave all the way from the USA, but he is buried in a local plot, as we have no military graves here in Australia after WW2. A problem has arisen, where the Australian government who is in charge of pensio…

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel "pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land". Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses and light up a camel, this is the promised land." ... Read More Now Obama is going to steal your shovel, kick your asses, raise the price of camels and mortgage the promised land.

Dear Sirs, In view of what seems to be happening internationally with banks at the moment, I was wondering if you could advise me correctly. If one of my checks is returned marked "insufficient funds," how do I know whether that refers to me, or to you?

F-15's and 16's aren't bad, but they are getting old. The F-22 is supposed to be far more capable, but there won't ever be very many of them. Now the F-35 is about ready. It's smaller than the F-22, and a lot less expensive. Maybe we'll get a lot of them. Unmanned aircraft still can't do everything. The link below brings up a video about the infrared sensor system on the F-35. It's about a microsecond behind science-fiction . . . . . Let's hope it really does what they say it does-but it may also be just a proposal. http://www.es.northropgrumman.com/solutions/f35targeting/assets/eodasvideo.html
