casey
Help refresh my memory. Front of the ramp, FS 1137? -20 was stretched? -30 was stretched?
casey
Found the answers to two of the questions 100\" for the -20 and 180\" for the -30. Still need the FS answer.
pjvr99
Don\'t know the -20, but -30 was 100\" from FS257 marked 257E, 277E, 297E, etc; and 80\" from (I think) FS797 marked 797E, 817E, etc. The origional Flight Stations retained their numbers while the plugs/inserts carry the \"E\" to denote Extension
casey
Thanks for the info. 797 would be the ramp then. Sounds familiar and after crunching some numbers it sounds right. Maybe 1137 was the fwd end of the door... Been too long.
Dan Wilson
Front of ramp is FS 737 for your run of the mill generic herkybird. Dan http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v721/FTFFTW/Herk/?action=view¤t=herkmeasurements.jpg
casey
Thanks Dan! I\'ve been wanting that exact image. Not sure where I got 1137. 1037 looks like it may be the aft end of the door, Maybe that\'s where it came from. Even I am getting old. DC10FE
Casey, I dug this drawing out of an old training manual I had from the Herc Flight Training Center @ Marietta. It\'s the fuselage stations for a -30. If you have a hard time reading it, I can email you a copy in a higher resolution. Don R. I tried to attach it, but if I get the size down to maximum size for this board, it\'s just about unreadable. I\'ll just email it to you. Don R. tinyclark
Makes sense to use the E. That way, the original install drawings don\'t change.
bbuech
A -20 is a C-130 with a forward fuselage plug installed 100 inches long. A -30 is a C-130 with a forward plug installed 100 inches long and an aft fuselage plug 80 inches long
DC10FE
bbuech, I\'m afraid I have to correct you on the -20 dimensions. The -20 had a forward plug measuring 60 inches & an aft plug measuring 40 inches. Don R.
