bobdaley
I have a bunch of pics I can't identify. Can anyone help? First 2 Iranian Herks Lars does not report any with these numbers! Thanks Bob
tinyclark
Wikipedia still shows 15 usable herks in their AF, not that Wiki is accurate. Edited December 6, 2010 by tinyclark
bobdaley
No telling on that but there have been quite a few pictures of flyable Iranian Herks recently. That doesn't mean that the Iranians don't change the tail numbers. As you say Wiki can be inaccurate though. Bob
Jansen
The Iranians have been talking up their version of an AMP for the last little while. They had 60 birds as of 1982, and could've revived an old one that was down for a while.
Jeff Wilkinson
A few years ago, I was discussing the Iranian "Night Harvest" F-4 Phantoms with author Tom Cooper, when he mentioned that around 1976 the Iranians re-serialled their F-4s. The confusing aspect of this was that the serials did not seem to have been applied according to any sequence that matched the original numbers. Any aircraft that remained were renumbered without regard to those who had been victims of attrition. The C-130s may have been re-serialled in this fashion as well.
