bobdaley
I found this 781 write up that Reed Mulkey made when 63-7865 was shot up so bad at Kontum.
Mt.crewchief
That's a neat find Bob. That is the same type of 781 some of us were talking about awhile back. I can't read the person's name that signed it off can you? It would be fun to see some more 781's from Viet Nam Ken
GVS
Thats 781 I remember.Has the block for the C/C name and rank. Question is , why is the symbol a red diagonal instead of a red cross?
bischoffm
Because someone was messing around with the forms (some crew chief humor!!)

SamMcGowan
Somewhere I've got the account Reed sent me back in the 80s when I was working on my book.
gizzard
bob, could I have flown with Reed Mulkey when I was in CTF at Langley, July 70??? I am sure I flew with him at one time or other..... Giz
bobdaley
Giz, Yup Reed was a Flight Commander in 1969 and early 1970 in the 37th before be became ops officer. When he was a flight Commander he used to fly quite a bit with CTF. He was the best IP I ever saw and he was always available to fly any time any where. gizzard
That sounds right, because it was middle of july i think when I got to KLFB, and started CTF about ten days later. Don't reckon they do that like that now, do they??? Do you recall the major who ran that operation. I think he knew every job on that aircraft, and once told me he thought I'd do well as a loady. Hope I didn't disappoint him...BTW my wife says no problem, hope she helped ya somewhat with your other question Giz
bobdaley
Lt Col Leroy Martin was running CTF in 69 and it might have been Major Gene Johnson who took over from him when Leroy went to the 36th. Bob PS tell her thanks

bobdaley
Jerry That's the same col Leroy Martin. I'll never forget flying with him either. He retired in Austin TX. Last I saw him was years ago and he was flying as a DC-9 Captain for Emerald Airlines. He has to be at least 80 now. Bob
