CMSgt Samuel F. McGoldrick (Retired) under went heart valve replacement surgery Wednesday a week ago. The surgeon had to perform a By-pass and eliminate false electrical impulses as well. Sam has been in a sedated state for an entire week to allow healing to occur. Tomorrow (Thursday) the Physician is going to first remove a bladder pump that has been used to assist his heart during recovery. Sam has been holding his own, Pulse, Pressure, Temperature, Urine flow are all great. The breathing and feeding tube will probably remain a while. I do not know when they will allow Sam to wake from sedation. Sam is in the ST Vincent’s infirmary Hospital in Little Rock Arkansas. St. Vincent’s is a 4 Star medical facility. Sam’s wife Sachiko and daughter Nana are by his side. Prayers for Sam’s complete recovery are requested.

Update on Sam - He has come through all his surgery's without complications. He is awake and fully aware of where he is and all that is going on, all vitals are checking good. He's still off and on the breathing tube as his lungs try to adjust to coming off the ventilator and should be totally off sometime today. His biggest issue is he can't talk because of the tube and for those that know Sam - that's an issue. This too will mend. No word yet on when he'll be released to go home, but if I know Sam he want's out of there yesterday!
