Mazurb
'74 C-130H1 ARC-190 We are having trouble finding a part number for the binding post that secures the antenna lead in from the lightning arrestor to the antenna coupler. The number in the IPB for the sheild assembly did not cross to any NSN. Does anyone know how we can get a new one of these? scnsdude
In 30+ years I have NEVER had to replace one of these. Lead in wire yes, stove pipe yes and even the little screen at the end of the lightening arrestor, but not that piece. I will ask the guys and check our strategically recovered serviceable assets and see if one might be there but don't hold your breath. tinyclark
I'm having someone check my old HF folder at Moody. I think I had that info on this RF terminal. Those shield assemblies were a one time buy for the install kits.
Mazurb
Thanks for your help guys. I appreciate you looking into it. These birds are new to us and we have no history to draw from.
tinyclark
Try 5940-00-539-0664, that's all I could find out. It's a binding post for an HF coupler mount box, not sure if it's yours. If that isn't it, you could always sub a short bolt and configure it like a grounding post, using a terminal lug on the HF lead in wire. Locknuts would ensure it won't come loose. larry myers
I'm guessing his old outfit at Moody misses him. And he probably misses them. When I see a question such as the thread starter above I immediately think, I bet Tiny has or can find the answer.
tinyclark
I do miss the job a bit, I will agree, mostly working with the young troops.
tinyclark
I got the part number from my fellow AFETS at Moody, Tim Martin. There should be an AFTO22 submitted to add that number to the book.
