NATOPS1
Always been labeled #2 or #3 here, all the way back to the 70's (oldest NATOPS I have) Maybe that is the way it identifies your Master engine IE: Master #1 (#2 Engine) Master #2 (Engine #3) where ours uses the actual engine that is selected as the Master Engine... 2 or
DC10FE
From my 1C-130H-1, dated 19 March 1985. A lot has changed since then, but I doubt if this has. My commercial Lockheed OM 382G, dated 12 October 1990 has the same illustration. Don R. Edited December 12, 2014 by DC10FE
NATOPS1
in my point of you this is due to that inner engines prop give more stabilize operation than outer ( i heard that gusty wind conditions can cause rpm fluctuations ) during manoeuvring of aircraft effect will be greater on outer engines may some other logics could be there but i heard this
casey
There would be "More" blade angle change and speed variation with an outboard engine due to the moment of the engine position and the change in airflow caused by the advancing wing and retreating wing. The outboard prop would speed up due to increased air flow or slow down due to reduced airflow both requiring blade angle changes so there may be some credit to this but I never heard that...
