  1. I've seen pictures of the first 2 ex USCG HC-130H's converted and flying for the USFS. 1721 now wears 118 and 1708 now wears 116. The FAA has some N Numbers reserved for the USFS including N118Z and N116Z, but they are not registered with the FAA yet and show no N numbers. My question is why are they not registered and why do they not have N numbers? anyone know? Thanks Bob
  2. I just found out that Jack Jordan a great Nav and a great friend passed. He was at Naha and I flew with him in the 37th at Langley. I'll try to attach the obit. Bob

  5. Fritz is right, the first 16 E models all 1961. The Marine Herk with the open cargo door was a KC-130F which was a version of the B and they all had forward cargo doors. bob
  6. Been a long time but I flew a few of the 61's going through Sewart. The pump for the cargo door, the doors were all sealed, was also used to emergency extend the nose gear and so the pumps were kept operational. Bob
  7. I could not figure out how to get to the forum? Bob
  8. Hi All, I know some of you have done this before and might be able to help. A CCK crew chief needs to get his DD-214 corrected to show boots on the ground in Viet Nam. He has a letter from Reed Mulkey about a shuttle he was on, but Reed has passed and it seems the letter is not proof as it "has no seal" Could anyone help Dianna? Her e mail is direpeta(at)att.net. Thanks Bob I was not able to copy and paste Reed's letter, too high tech for me so I am going to try to attach a PDF file. IMG_0001.pdf

  16. Saw this , this AM. 758AS at Pitt AFRC got 8 C-130H's from OKC ANG. 78-0806-0813. Pitt is now getting C-17's 4 of the H's are in AMARG 07,08,09,10. The other 4 are now loaned to 39RQS AFRC at Patrick. They are supposed to go to AMARG next year, 39RQS is flying them because all but one of their HC's were sent to AMARG because of corrosion. Interesting that the 1 HC that they have is 64-14852, the oldest flying USAF Herk. Bob
  17. 64-14859 was reinput to AMARG on 15 Jun 2016 Also of note the only USAF TC-130H 65-0962 was input to AMARG on 11 July 2016 Bob
