  1. Here is the info form the Lockheed Service News mags on the history of the outer wing, melded into one pdf file by some dude who likes adobe 8 pro.
  2. Here's the first page of the TCTO.
  3. There is no requirement on the drawing to mark them with that info.
  4. Steve, this is out of the old T.O. B-2-5, and reflects the same info in the new books, and on all the H-1s, Es and now HCs I work on.
  5. Got chrome? Or at least, any left?

It is BS. I saw one black A/C at Ramstein during my six years there, for one day. I guess they never did any pre, post, thru, HSC or ISO inspections on it. Must have been a CNN news reporter.
  7. UM, the wings installed during TCTO 1039 DO HAVE externally mounted fuel probes. They are 3-3/4" across and have 4 screws in them. The information label for the wing should be on the training edge around OWS 180.
  8. Another reason why I consider the Gunship the most effective modern weapon.
  9. The problem appears to be fixed, but they changed all 4 transducers, the valves, the wiring... so we really don't know what fixed it.
  10. You should be able to order NSN 1560-00-659-1367. This would be the -3 assembly, which includes the -4 seal and -7 seal. The -7 is just a foam tube that slides into the -4 seal. This creates a stiffer and tighter fit.
  11. It's not out of a book, it's the production install drawing (370123) of the truss mounts.
  12. I know what an AFI 11-201 is, but never heard of ALSCOM.
  13. If this is the sway brace y'all are talking about, the install drawing shows sealant.
  14. The main reason it is flying is Tim Martin. He went through all the diagrams, checked the aircraft, and found many, many problems. I minorly assisted him with this, and it was one hell of a project. I'm so glad they didn't do all the other aircraft they were supposed to do. One klusterf*<h was enough. BTW, I worked on Frankenherk, 64-0539, quite a bit. I prefer to call 1863 Frankentanker.
  15. This is all I found in the Navy T.O. Funny thing is that there is a repair that can be done. The replacement part is aluminum bronze, according to FEDLOG. No drawing for it in JEDMICS.
  16. It means it's on the wishlist but unfunded, like replacing the vacuum tube ADF is/was.
  17. We really haven't seen it hands on either. I don't think it's an antiskid issue myself. I still wonder if there's a possibilty of rotor warp, but kind of hard to believe with multiple discs. They don't want to taxi it to troubelshoot right now. I doubt they'll even think about it capping off one brake at a time. Maybe in an ideal world...
  18. Skip, that's IED Location Engineer. Remember, this is the kindler, gentler, more politically correct Air Force.
  19. A/P would disconnect when the yoke was moved to counteract it.
  20. As Bob said, the only HC-130P that has UARRSI is an old ABCCC airframe, 62-1863. This aircraft is in a 64 model configuration now. A total of 6 were supposed to be converted, but that didn't happen due to funding. It's a good thing too, that aircraft was AFU as far as system wiring was concerned.
  21. That's an older Navy part, according to FEDLOG. CANCELLED NIIN: 1610006287116 Status Code: 8 - ITEM IS CANCELLED-INACTIVE I can't find any more info on it, and I certainly wouldn't use it.
  22. I though the idea of JPADS was supposed to keep the C130 out of small arms fire harm. Why fly em in low, unless they are Talons?
  23. Funny you should mention that, same crew wrote it up the last two times. R-squaring the crew is not possible.
