Can anyone tell me why our USAF H1's are wired so that you can only see the SCNS mode advisory lights if you turn the nav instrument lighting rheostat up? It turns out that these lights are wired into the dimmer rheostat. So if you were flying during daylight, and you wanted to see the SCNS status lights, you'd have to turn the instrument lights on. This seems wrong to me, especially since the pilot/copilot advisory lights are not wired this way.

First an introduction..... my name id Randie Coulter, I am an aircraft enthusiast and scale modeler. I live in Fort Smith, AR right in the flight path of incoming and outgoing flights to and from KFSM. A lot of those flights are C-130 training flights out of Little Rock. Right out of high school I worked for TBM, Inc. at Sequoia Field, CA just North of Visalia. When I was there, they flew B-17s and F7Fs in fire fighting operations. Later, they acquired 3 C-130A aircraft that were utilized in the same capacity. The company still exists but now resides at Castle in Atwater, CA. They are still operating 1 C-130 and they have another 2 sitting in storage at the Visalia Munici…

We have a bird that has had an alt hold write-up since about 2010. It has been through CWB change in 2014 and a PDM 2016. The fail is that once level flight is established alt hold is engaged, all ann lights req do come on, the plane does not hold alt. It begins to fall. Flight director is good the bars appear on the ADI to pull up or down as needed however the elevators do not move, and there is no trim light to indicate it is trying to correct at all. On the ground it cannot be duplicated with the ttu. All parts have been changed or swapped no change.

Battery Relay With Battery voltage less than 7 volt; is it possible for the battery to be recharged with external ac power? Systematically… is the “Bat. Relay” can only be energized through a good charged battery..? Or it doesn’t matter; as this relay can also be energized through external power for feeding the “Bat.Bus” as well for recharging the battery. Any feedback will be appreciated as we are having an issue of one of the C-130H.

Hi. I have a question. Igniting state is called 'lightoff' What is the meaning and etymology of 'lightoff'? It is an engineering sense to describe ignition as 'lightoff' rather than 'light' Waiting for your answer!!

Hello. In LSGI after engine start, tit, fuel flow, torque, rpm are the same for all engines However, when switching to hsgi, engine no.1 is higher than tit 100 degrees and ff is higher than 200 ppm(Torque and rpm are the same as other engines) And after 2 ~ 5 minutes, ff and tit decrease similar to other engines Symptoms appear only at first start-up and do not appear during second or subsequent operation(The morning outside temperature is about 0 to 5 degrees) I exchanged MFC and TD VALVE I checked TD Amp Test How are your opinions?

this is a hypothetical question. If I the software PCMCIA card is accidentally formatted as a a flight RMM, what is the possibility of recovery? Do I have to order a new one from the Factory? Is it possible to back up the card in to a PC?

When I flew the Herc with Transafrik, most of the airplanes had at least 3 or 4 fuel gauges inop or unreliable. There was a procedure called a standpipe check to see how much fuel was actually in the tank. It's been since December 1995 (21+ years) that I've been in the cockpit of a Herc. Does anyone remember how the check went? I know it had to do with using the dump pumps as boost pumps. Thanks, Don R.
