My question is : A lot of herkys there have grey noses an some black noses.And others receive black noses(former grey).Why have these Herkys different Colors (Noses). Hello guys! Can anyone tell, during before landing check list once anti-skid test is carried out' what thing actually we test? Actually someone told me that during the said test we are actually testing the wheels for not locked condition, means if the test is satisfactory ' the wheels are not locked, and if the test is unsat then the wheels may locked

Hello, I am a maintaner for a C-130H that lives in a museum, i want to make sure she gets well maintained and so i am learning as much as i can about the C-130. Apart from that, said museum also has a simulator: I noticed during a few startups that the SEC fuel pump press light goes out before the start valve open light goes out. However during startup callouts; FE calls: Indicator, fuel flow, lightoff, Oil Pressures, hydraulics, Parralel,(starter), Valve, Series Is this normal behavior? I know start valve light can take up to 15 seconds to go out but should the calls then be Series, Valve? Note: i might have forgotten to tur…

Can anyone tell me what airfoil is used on the horizontal stabilizer of H model? I'm designing an R/C model as close to scale as I can get. I have a set of engineering drawings from the Smithsonian but the don't give the designation. It looks like a NACA2212 inverted.

Hello C130 world, can anyone help me. I'm looking 4 sealing which dry's out very quickly with cold temp's. the cold temp's at the moment and bad heated hangar (no heat at all:mad:) the dry time of the sealing is over 72 hrs. we are looking 4 a quickdry sealant. any one idea's and moving to country's where the temp is 25°C avrage is not an option......(though I wish I was overthere)... .BE

RNZAF C130H keeps shearing towbar pins. We found that the NWS steering indicator feed back drive chain in upper indicator dial had stiff links and stuck during travel and we thought that this was not allowing steering valve teeter totter arm to cycle whilst towing and causing a lock thus shearing towbar pins. We lubed chain and it appeared to fix problem but now the shearing has reoccured. Has anyone had this problem. We have not changed valve. It naturally does not do it with arm disconnected. NWS rigging i.e cable tension correct and even and teeter totter arm correct. The NWS operates as required when on skid plates. Cheers Kal

Hello, Wondering if anyone has seen a training manual set for c-130j. I have c-130a, c-130e and multiple c-130h training manual sets that have around 9 volumes per set of different systems. I have never seen one of these sets for c-130j but maybe foreign operators were given some of these from lockheed back in the day. If you have seen one or know someone with one, please contact me.

Another upgrade that they are doing to the Herk's are carbon fiber mlg wheel brakes and new wheels that have better cooling for the brakes. The wheels are now split rim, with an internal snap ring holding the 2 rims together. 73, Rex
