Hi, folks, Just thought I'd let you know my new novel, titled THE MULLAH'S STORM, features a C-130 nav as the main character. Putnam will release the book in September, and it's already available for pre-order on Amazon and the other online booksellers. The novel received a brief mention in a recent New York Times article, at this link: www.nytimes.com/2010/02/08/us/08military.html Meanwhile, many thanks for your support here for my previous, nonfiction book, THE SPEED OF HEAT. And back at the good old WVANG, where I'm still flying, we're hitting our stride in the C-5 now that we've converted from the Herk. Take care and fly safe! Tom Young

I just saw an e mail about a reunion of the 36 TAS to be held 23-25 April. Don't know who is running it or where it is at. The list of names and e mail addresses I saw seemed to have mostly McChord folks on it. I did not see many Langley era names on it, and I don't know about Yokota. Maybe someone in the know can fill us in? Bob

Many members of the C-130 community were saddened to learn that Bob Pinard passed away on February 15. Bob was another of the icons in the C-130 world whose career spanned the spectrum to a large degree. He was Stan/Eval for the 815th TCS at Tachikawa in the mid-60s and flew with Col. Charlie Howe whenever the colonel decided he wanted to fly in an A-model. He finished up his career as a maintenance officer at Hurlburt and lived in Ft. Walton Beach. After the Air Force he remained in airlift, working for Southern Air Transport and for some overseas entities. He's missed by a lot of people.

Please forward to me any mailing address, phone#s, e-mail addresses and/or any other info that I might not have on record. Also, please send this to anyone you think is not on my list and should be. I am attaching the Agenda, Registration Form and Trifold. The earlier you register for the reunion, the easier it is for the organizers to make all the arrangements. Also, if you are interested in playing golf, we are limited to 8 foursomes, so sign up soon to avoid the rush. Golf has been moved from Gator…

Well, I have to let everyone know that I am the proud father of a removed cancerous prostate. I had an elevated PSA, so that led to a biopsy, and then surgery yesterday. The surgery was done up here in Seattle by a well known urologist that performs the procedure with the Davinci robotic aid, using 5 small holes and a stereo lens camera. He told me that everything went excellent, and I will make a full recovery. Play on guys, and have your PSA checked!!!
