Anti-Collision Strobe Lights

Hi all,

I'm not a C-130 bubba, but I did fly on P-3's back in the day.  I'm on the civilian side and looking a for a bit of knowledge from Herc pilots/maintainers.

I've been reading through some maintenance documents particular to the exterior lighting system.  The TO references aircraft modified by TO 1C-130-1167, which is a retrofit adding strobes to the anti-collision lights.  I'm curious if this was a widespread retrofit and non-strobe ACLs are the exception, or it was only applied in a limited fashion.  Any info would help...cheers and happy holidays!
