We had an incident where one of the propellers on an aircraft went into an uncommanded reverse. Has anyone experienced this? It is the first time in (our) history that something like this has happened. It is still under investigation and is of huge concern to us because this incident happened on a pre-take-off run. Any suggestions/help will be appreciated!

Check out these USMC and USAF C-130 Vietnam era crashes -- these were all in the War zone and its feeder ABs on Taiwan, Okinawa and Guam but not elsewhere  -- on this website: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_accidents_and_incidents_involving_the_Lockheed_C-130_Hercules#1960s, and then Google their serial numbers for more details:

8/24/65

1/9/66

3/26/66

12/15/69

9/30/74

By my count, those five accounted for half (5/10) of the C-130 losses during 1965-75 in the War zone that were clearly attributable to materiel failures, and not to other accidental mishap causes.  Other than this bulletin board, I have not been able to find any reference to a general "fix" that was done to eliminate the possibility, and the fact that the above crashes were spread over nine years and models A (1), B (1), E (2), and F (1) suggest that if there was one, it might not have been universally made.
