Back in 1990 at Navy Jubail in Saudi (man what a packed that place was to get into) we saw a non- US herk with one wing tip split wide open from the tip into the outboard tank. Only info I ever got on it was from a fuel pit guy that said a helo hover taxied right into the plane. No idea if it was ever repaired or what happened to it.
