ehopper302
Do any of you have any tips or tricks for removing a stuck MLG tire? It happens to us a few times a year. This is happening on multiple disc brakes systems.
C130CC
I've used a bobtail and a 5k strap in extreme circumstances. Other than kicking the hell out of it or torching the bolts, don't know what to do.
CGRetired
Jaws of Life...Fire dept needed the practice anyway... kingair200
THE ONLY THING YOU CAN DO AFTER KIKING THE HELL OUT OF IT IS TO REMOVE THE STRUT, MORE THAN LIKELY YOU GOT A JAMED BEARING OR ROTOR.

wysongj
Here is a video of how we did it. We let the air out of the tire, pried like crazy, finally for a small tug attached to a wheel dolly, and shook like crazy! This was a Boise bird, back before the BRAC. Video was taken at Karshi-Khanabad Airbase in Uzbekistan, 2005.

HerkFCC
When this happen, it is usually due to one or more disk warping and binding on the rim key ways. I have encounter this a few times, and the tug or just a few friend kicking the crap out of the tire sometimes work; the easiest way I have found is to take a impact gun with a chisel bit to the nut that hold the brake together, NOT THE NUT THAT HOLD THE BRAKE TO THE AXLE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DO A STRUT CHANGE. Then the wheel and the outboard part of the brake will slide right off. If the disk hang up once after a few heat cycle it is more likely to happen again. Swapping the brake is a whole lot easier. Take it or leave it.
