Dragon Rouge

Today is November 22, 2010. Forty-six years ago crews from the 464th Troop Carrier Wing at Pope were getting ready for the historic RED DRAGON/DRAGON ROUGE mission to deliver Belgian paratroops to rescue whites being held hostage in Stanleyville in the Congo by Simba rebels. I came across this article on The History Net that I wrote back in the 1980s. If I remember correctly, the publisher of Military History had started a new magazine on Cold War operations or something like that and they published it originaily in it. Look at the comments beneath the article.
