Gizzard, Think I have it figured out. It's not that thier so young, it's that we're so old!!!

Larry, as much as I hate to admit it, you may be right. There WAS a time, though, there was a time. let's just hope that the young ones doin' what we did then can make it to the age we are now, and have great memories of the trip............

Nice video, but what was the "close" inspection of the JATO bottle rack at 00:25? What's up with engine instruments? I can see the torque, RPM, TIT gages (interesting), and the rest as digital indicators, but why are they mounted so low? What are the lights over the torque gages? And the lights right above them? Being an old school FE I might be able to get use to them, but i'll always prefer gages over digital indicators. It's alot easier comparing engines at a quick glance.

I thought the crewman was looking through the air deflector door into the compartment behind. And what was it he was so intent on inspecting. Only compenent I can think of is the refueling manifold drain pump. Unless the BAF birds have something in there the USAF aircraft don't.

Could the digital engine instruments be described an modernization?
