AMPTestFE
Was hit last night with a tornado. I do know some flight line buildings were torn up, but haven't heard about any aircraft yet. Some homes in base housing were destroyed too, but no reports of deaths or injuries yet. Let's hope not.
wysongj
We have some friends who live on base and their roof was ripped off. Thankfully they were gone at the time. I hope everyone else is okay.
polcat
My brother, who's also at LRAFB, said they took cover in their house in Jacksonville. I haven't heard if there is any damage to aircraft. Luckily, my family and I are out of town. Hope everyone is okay.
FourToPower
Looks like at least three 130's were damaged. http://www.todaysthv.com/news/article/154925/2/On-Assignment-Little-Rock-Air-Force-Base-damaged-in-Mondays-storms
SEFEGeorge
While I was stationed then in 81 or 82, a tornado came right at the base, then hopped over it. Missed it entirely. We lived in base housing at the time, on Oklahoma St.
wesamiss
I am based here. The tornado did lots of damage to our building and cars. But I have not heard about aircrafts. It did touch down on base.
AMPTestFE
Yep, saw some aircraft that weren't healthy looking. At least one wing is busted, with fuel everywhere.
loadsmith
a few Herk pics along with a few more from around base. http://www.littlerock.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123253405
bobdaley
I got an email saying 62-1806 (c/n 3760) , 62- 1851 (c/n 3815) and 74-1679 (c/n 3976) were damaged. Bob
AMPTestFE
Ok, I saw 1851 on the news link, plus an H1, so that makes sense. 1806 must be the busted wing?
KJamison
That was one of my favorite planes at Dyess. Shame. I know the LRAFB guys will get them back in top shape asap.
RavenFE
Bob, your information is correct. Saw them yesterday setting on Tango row. All the right wings tips have damage, the#4 props have chunks out of 2 of the blades. Other various scrapes and gouges. The two 62's look to be the worst for wear.
