130eng
Does anyone know what the chine angle is and how to check to see if it's good?
BobWoods
Isn't that the edge of the fuseluge were the cargo door opening is? The sides of the door and ramp run paralell to them on the left and right side. On boats its where the side of the hull meets the bottom
FourToPower
Does anyone know what the chine angle is and how to check to see if it's good? Page 8 of the attached document contains a good picture of the chine angle which is located in the left and right main landing gear wheel wells. As far as checking it the 1C-130A-3 should cover any limitations as far as cracks and corrosion. http://www.lockheedmartin.com/data/assets/1885.pdf

bischoffm
Basically it's where the aircraft changes structural direction from vertical to horizontal or vise versa.
SonnyJ
The chine angle is at WL 147~ and runs from FS 245 to FS 737. Like Mike said it is where the belly and fuselage skin come together. The chine angle is a 3 leg extrusion where the chine plate, fuselage skin, belly skin, vertical beams, and cargo floor bulkheads attach to. It is or similar to the LS 3868 extrusion.
