Guest
I was browsing around for C-130 pics and ran across the following site and thread: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/dave-winfields-projects/10232-c-130-ac-130-hercules-redraw-redesign-airdave-17.html Note our conversation regarding 53-3129 and the name "The Arbitrator." It appears that Lars' book and our image gallery require corrections? What say you? Casey
bobdaley
Some of the gunships have had more than one name. I heard that 54-1629 was the "Arbitrator" ? Charlie Spicka may know. The Spectre Association web page says 3129 was originally "The Arbitrator" but the name was changed. The picture that they have on the web page of 54-1629 appears to be the same airplane that we have pictured in the Gallery and they show 54-1629 as "the Arbitrator". Guest
I do not believe any of the images above are 1629. The aircraft does not have a rear opening NLG door like 1629. This page lists 1629 as "no name or nose art" but pictures an aircraft with the name "The Arbitrator?" http://www.spectre-association.org/listingsA.htm Lar's book also shows the name "The Arbitrator" for 1629. I think all the "The Arbitrator" images may be 3129. Hopefully Charlie will be able to clarify.
spec13fe
I think 129 had the Roman nose at that time. Mike
Guest
I'm still curious about this. Does anyone have any additional thoughts/info?
SamMcGowan
I wouldn't place too much faith in aircraft "names" since none of them were official.
