Steve1300
I am not referring to the one who does gay comic books! I am asking about the Herky Bird drawings. Does anyone know where I can find them online? Is there a book of his drawings that I can get my hands on?
DC10FE
Steve, Dave Davenport had a book out many, many years ago. The address to get it was: Herky Bird Unlimited PO Box 25 Spring Lake, NC 28390 Don't know if it's still good. That was back in the early 1980's. Don R. SEFEGeorge
Bill Lee did some pretty nice Herc cartoons back in the day but wouldn't have a clue as to where you can see any on them now.

Dave was a fixture at Pope/Fort Bragg for many years as were is cartoons. I heard a few years ago that that Dave passed away from cancer but I cannot confirm that. Hopefully some one here can confirm/deny that fact He was an outstanding funny guy ! Frank C.
SEFEGeorge
Bill Lee did the Brim Frost 85 pic in my gallery. Also had some t-shirts with his cartoons on them but that was many years ago.

Wombat
Last time I spoke with Dave, his wife was writing his emails as he had severe loss of sight. This is why his drawings used in Lars Olausson's later books were not as detailed as in the earlier ones. Dave donated his originals to the air force museum and both him and his drawings were flown to W-P in the same C-130 who's serial number he used on almost all his drawings. The aircraft was broken up in 2010. Bob M
Bogie102
Does anyone know where the article is about Dave davenport donating his drawings? I've been in contact with the Museum of the USAF and their archivist says they DON'T have his art. Roman
