SteveV22FE
I'd be interested in knowing as well...I did see that 74-1677 went to the the Afghanistan AF and 74-1665 is getting the Frankenherc treatment after a hard landing and it's going to the Afghanistan AF as well. I am trying to keep up with the current locational of all the old Dyess birds. 74-1663 and 74-1666 are at Yokota AB now.
bobdaley
I am guessing you mean the H's and not A's, D's or E's. Here is my best guess. Bob 74 H models.xls
uncleRa12
MFD ANG has 6 older H's, with two more coming. 630 is at MFD too. Wonder where they will all go eventually?

bobdaley
Saw in AFA news that Mont ANG has 6 of 7 H's it is supposed to get. Anyone know which ones? Thanks Bob
polcat
Little Rock has almost divested itself of all of its H1s and H3s. There are about 4-5 of each remaining. The tail transfer seemed to happen quite quickly.
jbob
Little Rock has almost divested itself of all of its H1s and H3s. There are about 4-5 of each remaining. The tail transfer seemed to happen quite quickly. I haven't kept up. So what does the Rock mostly fly now? I know they have plenty of "Js" 50th not flying H3s anymore? 53rd/62nd? Jeesh I am waaaaay behind.
polcat
41st and 61st are now all J and the 61st is still receiving airplanes. We have half as many as the 41st. The 53rd will deactivate sometime this summer. The 50th remains the primary H squadron, but they have about half a dozen Hs. Surprisingly, they have more H1s than H3s. 62nd is still around, but is interflying with the 154th in the legacy FTU. AFRC is now a numbered unit, they are the 913AG and interfly with the 50th. They have H2s, but the 50th guys and gals haven't been flying them. I think all but one of they're H2s have yet to receive the new tail flash. The day of the H has pretty much come to a close. Whether or not the Keesler J's come to Little Rock is still up in the air.
bobdaley
A few ?'s Did the 53rd Deactivate? I read that the 50th is an active duty associate unit flying H's owned by 327AS AFRC? Is the 62 the same, An active associate unit flying the H's of 154TRS ANG? Thanks Bob

Railrunner130
It looks to me like Dobbins is converting to H3s with the rest of the 50th airplanes being sent to replace AMPed airplanes and MAFFS 7. The balance of the 81s were sent to the 327th to fill in their numbers. Perhaps the rest of the "new" units will receive their full compliment when Yokota converts to Js. It also looks like they're trying (for the most part) to keep like serial numbers together for commonality sake. Just my guess.

Railrunner130
92-0554 is at Reno. A former co-worker posted a photo. Apparently, they're very slowly getting H3s.

bobdaley
Don We may be getting old. All the Herks I ever flew are either beer cans or waiting to be beer cans in the Bone Yard. There maybe only 4 or 5 74 H models left at LRF and 14 at Yokota. The rest are in the Guard or at Shepherd. 33 of the 53 74 H models are still on the Inventory. DC10FE
Thanks, Bob. Although you made me feel old, at least some of mine are still flying. I can remember parking next to an old C-130B/E with my brand new H-model and the crews coming over to gawk at the APU & the new AC inlets. Don R.
