On Tuesday Wyoming's Congressional delegation wrote a letter to United States Department of Agriculture Under Secretary Robert Bonnie. The letter states that the delegation is aware that the U.S. Forest Service Fire and Aviation Management's' CH-130H program is actively seeking a location for a long term facility, and the delegation has suggested two Wyoming locations including on in the Big Horn Basin.

On Wyoming entity that has expressed interest is B&G Industries in Greybull. In the letter it's stated they told the delegation they have a state-of-the-art hanger facility that could accommodate two of the aircraft with an additional 60,000 feet of hanger and storage area. The company also has a 7,200 ft. long runway which is rated for over 6,000 C-130 operations each month, and that their location requires no landing or ramp rental fees.

Also suggested is Cheyenne Regional Airport. They've told the delegation they have an available and move in ready facility that could support the maintenance, management and administrative programs for the CH-130H fleet. They say they can also offer the USFS fuel incentives, and share the costs of de-icing and snow removal service.
