Mazurb
We have '74 Model H1s with Non NVIS compatible displays and controls. Has anyone found a good solution to allow for Night vision operation?
AMPTestFE
Thick tape....and the the back lights turned off. Unfortunately, this is what we still have to live with since the AF didn't want their AMP.
tinyclark
There are replacements out there to make the cockpit light NVG compliant. We did TCTO 1C-130-1782 to our HCs and one E-model when I was at Moody.

We had the blue paddle lights at Eglin on one of our acft. (66-0217) when I was there in 1982-1984.
tinyclark
Don't know anything about blue paddle lights. Here is the purpose statement from the TCTO. This TCTO wasn't even issued until 2001. "The purpose of this Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) is to document the installation of Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compatible cockpit lighting by replacing selected lens covers and caution/warning lights with replacements already in use by other C-130 airplanes. This action will provide optimal visual acuity for crewmembers using NVG and permits use of NVGs by aircrews throughout entire mission profiles without measurable degradation and within the airplane’s full performance envelope."
