  1. Dan From what I hear they will be in place of, but you know how long it will take to get all the assets. The HC & MC-Ps will be around for a long time. Five more weeks here in the UK, then off to Cannon. Chat later

Not sure myself, but was it assigned to Howard AB? That might explain the camera holes.
  3. I was flying over there when this happen. I can tell you that we changed the routes that we flew between Baghdad and Balad after this incident. God rest their souls.
  4. Timcoppin...you might want to rethink your \"only American assembled thing\". You will be suprised by what is left after you look at all the MADE IN CHINA tabs.
  5. I\'ll be the first to say I don\' think there is a legitimate company out there any more in the aviation field. I know these are different airframes, but you have to look within each company to see what is really going on. Boeing\'s new 787...75% of it is made overseas then flown into Boeing field for assembly (include Airbus). They are having the same problem (I mean push backs) as Airbus with the A380. Speaking of the Airbus\' A380...over 50% of it is made in the USA with local company and shipped back to France for assembly. So when we say \"all\" jobs are running overseas...that isn\'t the case. Maybe we all need to look into the real deal is.
  6. KC-130J are also using external tanks. I know the future AF tanker version will have tanks too.

  10. They both were 700X500, but let me try again.
  11. Here I have a couple I took a few months back on return from a Sig TDY. A MC-130P in formation on the way back to the house. Gary
  12. Thanks Zak for the info...I have been trying to track this down since the last time I was at Mildenhall. I have always thought that, but now the news is out. Gary
  13. 69-5826 and yes it does have two poppet\'s in the ramp...LM asked me about it yesterday. Just trying to pass on some history to the younger guys. Gary

  15. Hey this brings up a question I have been trying to get an answer to for a few years. We have one MC-130P at Mildenhall that has two extra air vents facing backwards above the right main landing gear. I have been told that it had a hydralic ATM installed at one time. Can anyone help me finally iron this out?
  16. Had an actual 781 write up/sign off while I was doing an FCF prebrief the other day that I think you guys would get a kick out of: Actual write up - Pilot\'s kidney panel has five stripped screws. Signoff - Screws removed, required man strength.

    M in MC

Never did one with the 9 SOS, but kept the qual while I was there. You know ever AFSOC bird gets these days will have a hole in the head for those long range missions. Visiting Cannon as we speak.

Dan Remember the M stands for more, and more and more. If have to remember, the MC-P world does have the FARP mission. I have been doing it for 10+ years on three different continents in three different operations. Don\'t sell us short. I\'ll be the first to give the Talons a mission if it is their mission set. Each acft trains to certain standards even though we can all do each others mission.
  19. Looks the same as I left it last time I was there. G

Thanks for the Wx update...I\'ll pack for cold. Same crap here in MLD weather wise. You did the right things. If I had to go out to ABQ, I would live in the mountains myself. That way I could get away from the city once in a while. G

I know the shifty-fifty has asked \"So when id AFSOC going to show up and save the city\". There are many other companies within the local populace that they themselves don\'t dump money back into the community. US Herk…how\'s the weather, I have will be coming out your way next weekend for the annual pilgrimage to the SIM?

Dan...I had to throw it back on you, you know that. Plus I knew you would call the Talons out. It is so funny, four years ago the MC-Ps were on the retirement list, and just a few months ago, Gen Wurster said the Shadows will be caring the load in AFSOC until the Talons fix the CWB problems (years out). Loadsmith...You won\'t see any AFSOC assignments on AMS (except for the 6 SOS and Sensor positions on the Preds in Cannon for enlsited folks). All other assignments are filled through the assignments guys at Randolph. There are some prerequisites for most positions...anyone flying slicks for 3+ years fill theses. Gary

Come on Dan, why do you have to bust our balls like that. If I remember right, that wasn\'t the song you sung when you were still in AFSOC. Yes things have changed, but if you want to be were all the action is, AFSOC will get you there. Gary
  24. Sorry Zak...correct that we have 10 months left here in Mildenhall.
  25. Zak...all is well here in Mildenhall. We have 20 months left here, still waiting on the next assignment. I have at least two more years since the AF graced me with Senior this past year. Where are you these days...didn\'t know you left the FWB area? Gary
