Sorry we hijacked this tool thread. Sounds like we have some really fine rides out there. Maybe we need to do a post your ride thread soon. beautiful 55 Chevy. Wil
  2. Skip you are the man. 5 pickups by one pilot is awesome. Wil
  3. Ken, I recently began receiving care at the VA here in the Dallas area. Some treatment requires that I go to the Main VA center. The remainder of my treatment is done at the VA Clinic in Ft. Worth. I don't know if everyone else is receiving great care but I have been treated much better than any private treatment I received. They have treated me with kindness and respect, As Dan or Muff said prescriptions are only $8.00. I hope you get the same care I have received. I wish I had known about this a long time ago. Wil

Hey TopBoltsto400 Post some pics of your ride when you get r done. I'm a drag racer from way back and love all American Muscle. My daily driver up until a couple of years ago was a 1995 Mustang Cobra. She had an E cam with MAC shortys, Flowmasters, Chip and 4.10's. Also had the suspension stuff to make her go around corners. Wil:)
  5. Speaking of Heks in Movies, I was watching the Unit today. At the end they had Top Sargeant picked up by a Herk using the balloon and whiskers arrangement. It was pretty cool. I understand there were only a few real pickups similar to this. Wil

  9. Nice Herk to buy. I agree with the racing stripes. Maybe some flames with a blue pearl. wil
  10. Thanks Guys. What an incredible wealth of information exists on this site. BTW what was Blue Chip. I recognize Cricket since I worked it in 1967. I assume Spectre was an AC130A. Wil

thanks Tiny for the fun side of mechanicing. I ran across this unusual use of alternate items for a fuse. Hope you enjoy it. Wil (1996) Two local men were seriously injured when their pickup truck left the road and struck a tree near Cotton Patch on state Highway 38 early Monday morning. Woodruff County Deputy Dovey Snyder reported the accident shortly after midnight Monday. Thurston Poole, 33, of Des Arc, and Billy Ray Wallis, 38, of Little Rock, are listed in serious condition at Baptist Medical Center. The accident occurred as the two men were returning to Des Arc after a frog-giggin' trip. On an overcast Sunday night, Poole's pickup truck's headlights malfunctioned. The two men concluded that the headlight fuse on the older model truck had burned out. A replacement fuse was not available, but Wallis noticed that the .22 caliber bullet from his pistol fit perfectly into the fuse box next to the steering wheel column. Upon inserting the bullet, the headlights again began to operate properly and the two men proceeded on eastbound toward the White River Bridge. After traveling approximately 20 miles, just before crossing the river, the bullet apparently overheated, discharged and struck Poole in the right testicle. The vehicle swerved sharply to the right, exiting the pavement and striking a tree. Poole suffered only minor cuts and abrasions from the accident but will require surgery to repair the other wound. Wallis sustained a broken clavicle and was treated and released. "Thank God we weren't on that bridge when Thurston (shot his intimate parts off) or we might have been dead," stated Wallis. "I've been a trooper for 10 years in this part of the world, but this is a first for me. I can't believe that those two would admit how the accident happened," said Snyder. Upon being notified of the wreck, Lavinia, Poole's wife, asked how many frogs the boys had caught. Incorrectly attributed to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, 25 July 1996. The Gazette issued a decisive statement denouncing this story as a hoax on October 17, 1997. Reference: Arkansas Democrat Gazette
  12. Glenn thanks for the rundown on the crew that dropped at least 1 of the Blu-82's. there are many Marines that owe their lives to them and also the others that responded to his post that participated in some way. The Marines, America and I want to thank all of you that helped. Wukang, I don't remember them mentioning more than 1 Blu-82. I assume that the one they showed was right before they were actually rescued. Boy did Intel screw that job up royally. Take care all. Wil
  13. I was watching the Military channel the other night when a program came on about the Mayaguez ship that was captured and the crew held hostage. What I would like to know is which of you flew the Herk that dropped the BLU-82 which gave the troops on the ground a breather from the intense attacks. whoever you are thanks for helping those fellow warriors. Many of them came home because of that bomb drop. Take care. wil
  14. I now have a good idea of the meaning of OLD FART. No Jesus did not sign my High School Yearbook but I remember him as a child. He was fairly mischievious like his brother James. i guess I qualify since my last trip to Cam Ranh Bay was in july 1970. Take care and thanks for the fun. Wil
  15. All this talk about old Farts begs the question, how old do you have to be to be an old Fart? Wil
  16. I would just like to post an update. Today I attended the funeral of Major Curtis Miller. I wanted to be there to welcome him home and pay our respects on behalf of everyone here. The ceremony was quite impressive and the high point was the 2 Herks from Carswell that flew over. Wil
  17. Is anyone going to attend the funeral of Major Miller here in DFW this coming Monday? Let me know and I'll say hello to you there. Wil
  18. I don't see the picture. Have I become blind too. The ringing in my ears shouldn't affectg my vision. Wil
  19. We'll have to do something about that pink seat. Blue with racing stripes perhaps. As for the seat being down, have you ever tried standing up while using the urinal and your scooter is going 30 mph? Try it sometime and let me know how you did. Don't need no stinking toilet paper. Wil

  22. Welcome home Major. Thank you for a job well done. I am glad you have been returned to your family where you belong. I wish I had known about this as I would like to have attended his burial as I live not far from the DFW cemetery. Rest in peace. Wil
  23. KarlK, since your question has been answered I thought you might enjoy this pic of Fat Albert.
