  1. Not sure when they painted the falling star on the tail, I got there in 82 and they were already painted. Here is 854 around 1985 on a TDY, Travis or McClellan.
  2. Pictures of 87-0128 before and after a "minor" modification around 1990.
  3. IAW the 1C-130(A)U-1... "Approximately 650 turns are required for full extension. A slip clutch is provided in the manual gearbox to prevent the operator from overloading the drive system. Slippage of the clutch indicates the jackscrew nuts are bottomed and the flaps are full up or full down, or that interference will not permit flap operation." Remember movement should only be made in 10% increments.

  6. Retired CMSgt Greg Bailey passed away yesterday, Oct 1. Greg started out his military career as a crew chief at Wurtsmith in 1972. He cross trained to a flt. engineer in 1975 and was at Dyess until 1978. He then went to the 6594th Test Group at Hickam until 1984. He finished his career in 1996 with assignments between Eglin and Hurlburt Field as the superintendent of the 9th SOS and AFSOC IG. A viewing will be held today 2 Oct. at the Heritage Gardens Funeral Home between 5p.m and 7 p.m. Burial services to be held 3 p.m. Friday, Oct.3 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Niceville, FL.
