to anser your question Chris , Bob Daley checked with a friend of his and the cost to rent one was 12,500 per hour plus abour 3,000 in set up costs but they are based in cal. but to make a long story short it could be done we just somebody like Bob to set it up. If I remember rightly when the 38 was actavated at Langley they had no planes so the flew the 36th and 37th planes during the summer of 1971. The 37th Loadmasters only flew about once a week . It was a great summer for us not much to do. But late 71 things picked up as the 38th got there planes and things got moving again we went from fathom to feast as if I remember rightly I was TDY 267 days out of 365. The 37th air crews had good morel for the 4 years I was there you doint always see whats going on around you but again those were drinking years so my memoreys arent always correct

Bill I admit I was only 21 at the time and lisened to the older flite eng that were 25 to 35 (old men at the time)liked to mess with the youngens of the time. Doint remember the name of the eng. but like I said my memerory not what it used to be but they are good memerorys. Bob in november of 1972 we took a hole load of thoes engs in to phan rang ab as replacements for the 123s. At the time we were told they were the same engs as on the B-52s. They said the engs were for the south vet air craft ,but that late in the war the north could have ended up with them. The only other memerory I have is the smell of the place they said it was the defolent go figer im surprized i rember this much. jerry

Giz I guess I should have mentioned when you get your agent orenge phs (after proving boots on the ground) they are saposed to say (the docters)the condition is more likely than not service conected. It took over 3 years and I had to file a disagrement of their results. You have to just keep going, in the end they will give up and award the claim but like don said all claim seters are different Jerry

Hang in there Giz it seems to take the VA one mounth shourt of a year to do any thing with a claim , you should here something in june . Im one of Dans 10% I have 4 10% and one 20% adding up to 50% it took me 3and a half years to get here but what the heck what else did I half todo (but I still like the VA) go figer

You need to start proving boots on the groung now not when your sick it makes a difference in how appointments are set up. example 50%or more disabled from service-connected will get their appointments scheduled wiyhin 30 days of the desired dates according to VA hand book.

Sparks they probly did tell you that travel vouchers are not avable , they told me that to however low and behold two of my travel vouchers for nam showed up 40 years later. they deniged my clame the first time to for the same reason ,but you have to keep trying there is a list of ware records are kept . I sent requests to them all for for two years it finaly paid off Im 40% for type 2 and still trying to get the 10 % for my hearing loss. The trick seems to be persistant and not give up. when they say there to help there kidding. Hang in there
