  1. I took these photos of 567 while she was at Boise. I'm building an archive of the retirement in general, and also what I can find on these four Talons specifically; emails, documents (like the 913's and hand receipts for the 3 in AMARG), pictures, Thigpens' book, etc. What's the story with the goose? That, and these photos will also go into the archive.
  2. Talons heading out on a one-time flight waiver. Note the Idaho ANG Tail Flash.
  3. 567 is safely home at Hurbie. There is an induction ceremony / party planned some time in the future, but probably looking at a few months from now, so keep your schedules open. I’m a retired PAVE guy, and there are few things I enjoyed over the years TDY quite as much as drinking free Talon beer. I’ll bring my coin……see ya there. The other 3 are retired in AMARG. Don't worry, they won't be cut up and they can't ever be sold. As for the museum question; we tried. But the regulations state that the museum is fiscally responsible for the delivery of the aircraft, and has to show funds adequate to display / maintain the aircraft in a manner befitting....and money's just a little tight right now.
  4. There was a nice little write up on this in the July issue of Aviation History, page 9. Good picture too... 555 (true to her grumpy disposition) went into AMARG with her gear pinned down. Five of the guys that launched her out thought it might be a good idea right after to head down to Jackpot City, just south of the Idaho border to play all fives....... (555, flies on the 5th day of the 5th month). Hmmm... seems like a good way to funnel your perdiem into the local community at 5-times the normal rate, but I hope they did OK.
