I retired from the Senior Foreign Service in 1997 with 30 years of U.S. Government service with the US. Air Force and the U.S. Department of State. I served in Washington D.C. and abroad in Senegal, Kenya, Bulgaria, Finland, Turkey and Spain. Before entering the Foreign Service, I worked as an Account Executive for Merrill Lynch, Inc. in Stamford, CT. and prior to that served as a C-130 Instructor Pilot in the USAF. I earned an MA in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA in Economics from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. I am also a graduate of the National War College in Washington, D.C. I am married to the former Linda L. Foote of Burlington, VT., and have two sons, Eric and Scott.
