Yeah that kind of irks me when you see what was a good sight to see with US military markings and now they have some foreign 

"force de aero" painted on the side of them with some funky number and hieroglyphics that make no sense.  I wish that they were kept in this country .  Made in the US and scrapped in the US!

I worked on the B's when Charlotte Air guard had them and I was full time there for 20+ years.  Retired prior to them getting the H

model.  Loved the sound of the A's with no LSGI when they were taxing.  At least that what I was told as to why they sounded different.

And I heard from several of the flying types that the B was the hot rod of the C130's

Like that idea too, Robert!  I was a B model maintainer but there was something about the A's that I always liked!

Strnge that Wyoming has had 2 aircraft damaged that were tail number 1533.  The first was a B model 59-1533 damaged during a tornado at the Guard base.  Wings and tail were removed and it was airlifted to depot and returned to the skies again.  Now this 92 H model 92-1533 with a failed nose gear.

That would be 26 years of service.  Aren't they retiring them early or is it the airframe hours that determine service life.?

It is nice to see old parts saved as mementos. Shows that these parts survived many flight hours and hopefully still brought a 

brave aircrew home.

Looks like the inline bleed air filters to me and this story sounds like a crock to an old head like me!

A man was in the hospital with his jaws wired shut. He kept asking for a cup of hot coffee with sugar.  Nurses assured him the only place he could have the coffee was in the anal area!! He wanted it so bad that he demanded they pour the coffee into him.  Just a few seconds later he began to scream in agony!!!  The nurses asked if it was too hot for him?  No he screamed, "too sweet"!

Love reading these histories!  I first saw the C 130 when I was at Chanute AFB.  They were doing touch and go training and one of the troops there said they were from Sewart ( don't know how he knew that).  I left Chanute to go to B58's at Little Rock.  Those ol bombers would fall apart if you walked in front of them!  As a 3 level trainee seemed all I could do was prime generators all the time or replace anti skid conduits on these birds.  When I finally got my 5 level I got orders to go to CCK.  Our shop was really over manned and the C 130 never broke.  When you did get a write up, 5 of you went out to fix it.  Usually a simple fix.  I did learn to repair the inverters in shop, test the alternators on the shop test stand.
