  1. Hey guys, I need some help here. My herk was belly landed in late 1972 or maybe 1973 in Tainan Taiwan. I have tried to find some kind of incident report with no luck at all. Can anyone tell me where I can find such report? Tail number was 64-0497. Thanx
  2. I get to see one once in while, I think some of boys from pope fly up to the west end of the state every now and then. I have seen them shootin touch and go's out at the Asheville airport now and then. I was heading out for work the other day, and I'm going down the street out to the main road, and I heard a herky overhead so I stop on a dime throw the car up into park and jump out looking up, now I know all my neigbors must have thought I was crazy. BUT IT WAS A HERKY BIRD.......I had to look. Its in the blood

  6. That would be bulkhead 245 sir, behind 245 are all radio, nav, and radar black boxes.
  7. Vince, I've got some photos of 497 that I will use for avatar when I get them over on a CD. Thats a good shot of 0515, I've been looking for all our aircraft, to see where they are. Thanks for posting it. Tommy
  8. Hey Vince, We need to find the rest of the guys, but if they are like Dave Splawn they won't touch a computer. Oh well, we still have cell phones. Oh by the way I found out a few days ago that 64-0497 was scrapped in 2001. That brought a lump to the ole throat, man I've got (had) a ton of hours on that bird. RIP four niner seven. Tommy
  9. The CCK Gang' My name Tommy Norton, I was at CCK from Aug 71 til we were moved to P.I. . I got into E Flight early 73, I was Asst. crew chief on 640497 David "Splash" Splawn was Crew Chief. I've got Vince Aquavelva in my sights, and looking for some of the other guys we served with. I would love to hook up with Lurch, I wonder if he still drives his honda, Ha! to this very day, I don't see how he got in and out of that car. Last time I heard about POPs, he was Saudia Arabia. Dave and Millie are still here in North Carolina, as am I. Vince, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about CCK, do you know if we were on blanket orders (over on the lizzards) as far as going TDY. I went TDY on three different occasions while I worked on the camofloged birds, and I recently ordered my records from MO. and there are none of my orders are there with the exception of the one leaving Clark going to Keesler MS going to the 53rd Weather Wing. Do you ever talk to any of the guys? Drop me a line some time, I really would like to find some of the guys. I've got a lot of pics in the attic I'll have to post some of them. Talk to me guys, Tommy
