  1. Hi Bob, I think the 16th did one at Blytheville, AR in the late 80's. Not sure but I think the Engineer pulled the c/b for the warning horn while doing Touch and Go's.
  2. All, Thanks for the quick responses, I appreciate all your reply's. I still need a few more to finish my assignment. Samantha Steve, I guess its been a few years since we have seen one another. As I remember the last time was in Germany at Rhein Main probably in 1996. I was there for fuel cell work on my HC-130. We flew in from Saudi Arabia and I was there for a few weeks. Samantha was probably 2 years old at that time, boy how time fly's. My son is in the Navy working P-3's at Whidby Island and my oldest daughter graduated High School last May.
  3. All, My 16 year old daughter has the following assignment for school and would appreciate some help from those who are veterans of the Vietnam era. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Bruce She will need your age during the war, sex and a statement to the following question: "If you were drafted into a war you did not believe your country should be fighting, and you could not claim exempt or conscientious objector status, would you choose to leave the country illegally, knowing that it may mean you can never come back, or to fight in the war, knowing that you will be made to kill people and may get seriously injured or die?"
  4. Jake, Thanks for the information. I enjoyed working with George, I often wondered why he did not come back for a second trip to the ice.
  5. Felix, I was the only FE from Little Rock, the others were from Dyess and Pope. I can't seem to remember the of the Dyess FE I think it was Dan (He was a TSgt), the FE from Pope was SSgt Scott Betts. I also served with Scott at Patrick AFB, FL. in the 71st RQS. I think he finished his career at Moody AFB, GA. when the 71st moved there in 1997. Jim Spillman was with me in the 71st also. P.S. Felix, can you give me more details as to who you are, lost too many braincells along the way.
  6. In 1988 I was one 3 AF FE's selected for manning assistance to VXE-6. I did 2 Antartic tours with them. (Sept. '88 to Mar. '89 and again in Oct. '89 to Jan. '90) Everyone I worked with during both tours were very professional and I learned a great deal from them. To those who served with VXE-6 it was a pleasure.
  7. Thanks for the information, it\'s been a long time.
  8. Thanks John, I\'m pretty sure 0564 was one of the 1st. SOS acft. while I was assigned to Kadena. Wasn\'t 0564 the one that was lost at Subic Bay?
  9. Bob Daley or Skip, Could one of you tell me the tail# of the MC in my avatar? I think this picture was taken at Edwards after the IFR system was added. I got this picture in \'78 or \'79 when I crewed the MC\'s for the 1st. SOS at Kadena. Steve Booe might be able to add more information on this picture. Thanks in advance, Bruce
  10. Many Thanks for all your hard work.

    8 bladed Prop

Hi Gang, I was one three AF FE\'s to serve with VXE-6 in Antartica (\'88-\'89 & \'89-\'90) During my time with VXE-6 we never used JATO, it was available if we needed it though. I am just curious if the NY ANG is using JATO in Antartica on a regular basis? I\'m glad the AF is testing the 8 bladed prop. I wish we had it when I was flying. Bruce
