  1. I had never flew on a plane until my flight to Lackland went to Chanute on B-52's sent to Sewart on C- 130E's had to cross train but it was a real trip for me!!
  2. I remember Sewart had two or three in the training sq.

I am really too old to comment on this but i was on 64 E's for three years ACC CC over 2 years and I just can't think of this kind of one of the problems was with the fuel shut off are oil don't know but we would reach in side and push what we call the primer and she would fire up. Wish I could remember better!
  4. Have spent time in the Left seat on long flights the A.C. would want to walk around it was a good feeling that they trust you to say awake. Ha!
  5. That is my old Bird from Sewart AFB Tenn. Crewed her for about a year and a half she was a real work horse if you don't beleive ask the guys in PRANG.they will tell you.

  13. We did have some plastic bag back in the day but it had to be a life are death event. as for as the piss tubes you used it you poured water and bleach through it!

    You guys are to funny Talking about wood I have a Buck stove I brought with me from Ky in 1982 here in Macon get don't get really cold enough to fire it up real good as my house is not real big but use it when it get down in the low 20's. Talking about age will be 68 in Nov.but don't feel like it. as when my dad was my age he was a little slower.

    I love that wood pile make home sick for Ky. We burn wood all my time at home.
  17. Crew Chief is a title and carries great responsibility as you are in charge of seeing that plane is air worthy don't take it lightly!!!

    64-0510 c/n [cn]3996[/cn]. Still flying in the P.R. A.N.G. My old plane in 1967-1969, she took me all over the world and still going. But not for long Sept. she is going to Bone Yard so sad!
  19. Back at Sewart AFB 1966-1969 we never had reflective tape on are coats are belts in the 61st 62nd as far as I know but you knon old minds.
  20. Bill I got out in 1969 they passed me over for staff and some guys made it that hadn't near the experenice as I had and several more Crew Cheif's also got out at that time.You know they have all the know how!
  21. To me the best engine shop was at Sewart AFB. The 61st and the 62nd flew all over the world and I can not remember a engine failure that was in 1966-1969 and in a real War. I think.
  22. I know you young guys don't really know about the old days I was on C-130E 1966-1969 never seen a bird nests in a engine maybe they where to busy flying as we were very busy!
  23. When we came back from Clark in Mar. 1968 we had 4 motorcycles and lot of other stuff we flew strait though to Sewart from Clark with two flight crews. Fuel stop and food only. Lots of sleep.
