  1. There is a waiver for FAA check airmen. Also, if you can push it up through your squadron it would make thing a whole lot easier. We have a person in AWACS that will flight check our guys, he\'s not in the Air Force but he is in a sister service. It was fairly easy for us to get him permission to fly with us.
  2. Thanks, i\'m really looking forward to it. Being in AFSOC won\'t hurt either.
  3. I completely agree with having the forms there. Plus you know what your problems may be when you take the plane off station. Our guys pull the forms prior to every flight and we don\'t have access to CAMS, so we have to use a dry-erase board in the flight to help us remeber what happened so we can brief the other guys. The MX/FE relationship is a special one, I agree with the other guys when they say don\'t screw it up and definately don\'t go toe to toe with the pro super. But always make sure that the -1 is on your side when you have an issue, you can\'t lose.
  4. No worries. My main concern is the airplane. I can deal with the location. It will be nice to be in Florida for at least a little or however long they let me stay. Is the airplane as much fun as it sounds like? Lastly, how do the other folks down there feel about moving to Cannon? I haven\'t heard a whole lot about it. Probably because i\'m not part of the community yet.
  5. It\'s a crap shoot for us. MX thinks that we hate them so that\'s why we break jets. It never crosses their minds that whoever came up with bright idea of putting a Boeing 707 in Alaska wasn\'t thinking it completely through. Also, just like every other engineer here, we want ensure that the plane is safe and will perform the mission. It\'s our lives on the line. And it\'s our mess to clean up when we encounter a malfunction in the air!
  6. Okay then let\'s say 130 and E-3 Engineers don\'t show up to break them. C-5\'s are their own animal anyways.
  7. Good luck dude. This was the best career move I could have ever made! I kick myself for not crossing over earlier. I\'ve been an Engineer for 7 years and only met one guy i didn\'t get along with. Also, MX will look at you differently. Your days of being accepted in MX are over! They will more or less tolerate you. The big thing is that engineers never show up to an airplane to break it! Contrary to popular belief.
  8. Is the entire SQ moving to Cannon? As of right now I only have retainability to return from Overseas. I was also told that my orders say the 4th in stead of the 19th so that I will go to the 4th and not the 16th. I also got offered a Shadow slot. I\'m hoping to stay at Hurby. I am in the process of building a house! Oh, I am a volunteer. I wanted to see something different and didn\'t want to go back to Tinker.
  9. As far as I know. My orders say that I\'m going to the 4th.
  10. I am a flight engineer. Any info is good. I looked at the Air Force website. I\'m just trying to get a feel for what I will be doing. I\'m excited about actually feeling like i\'m in the fight.
  11. I just recieved orders to the 4th SOS! I was hoping that someone could help me out with some AC-130U gouge. I\'m coming from AWACS. I tried to access the AC-130U page on Herkapedia but it says I need to be allowed or invited into the page. Anyone know how to get access? Thanks for the help.:woohoo:
