  1. Did we really look that young?
  2. http://www.kohtang.com/growth.htm I believe that history will show that at least one was dropped to clear a helicopter landing zone to get some of the Marines in and at least one was dropped during the extraction of the Marines. The 50th is on record as having dropped one of the BLUs, if Doug Way of the 21st dropped one then there are at least two.
  3. There were several BLU-82 drops on Koh Tang after the seizure of the ship. In order to answer your question the date and time of the drop would have to be known. http://www.afhra.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=10256
  4. NO, but the chick looks familiar.
  5. Check out the C-123 at 3:52. I believe at that time the system was called PLADS or Parachute Low Altitude Delivery System.
  6. "Buddha" Caldwell was an O-6 Operations Officer for the 316 TAG at Yokota in the late 80's. I had several conversations with him while I was the MACLO for the III MEF.

Subject: Social Security for Vets Please share this with anyone who's had active duty service prior toJanuary2002 and planning for retirement. In a nutshell it boils down to this: You qualify for a higher social security payment because of yourmilitary service, for active duty any time from 1940 through 2001 (theprogram was done away with in January 2002). Up to $1200 per year ofearnings credit credited at time of application - which can make asubstantial difference in social security monthly payments upon yourretirement. You must bring your DD-214 to the Social Security Office - and you mustask for this benefit to receive it! Soc Sec website: http://www.ssa.gov/retire2/military.htm http://www.ssa.gov/retire2/military.htm > This is something to put in your files for when you apply for SocialSecurity down the road. It is NOT just for retirees, BUT anyone who hasserved on active duty prior to January 2002. FYI - this benefit is not automatic, you must ask for it! ------ End of Forwarded Message
