A lifelong aviation buff, I enjoy taking photos of all kinds of aircraft, researching aviation history and writing aviation articles for various publications, including the newspaper I work for - The Telegram (www.thetelegram.com).
I have written numerous aviation related articles over the years for newspapers, magazines and web based publications. I am the author of "I'd Rather Be Flying - The Airborne Life & Times of Ted Pearcy (published 2000, Creative Book Publishing ISBN 1-894294-20-3), the biography of a celebrated local pilot here in Newfoundland, Canada.
I have a particular affection for Hercs as I see many of them at the local airport (CYYT) as they transit to and from North America. I've flown in Canadian AF Hercs as well as USCG Hercs on ice patrol. At times I may have questions about specific planes or Hercules variants, hence my desire to belong to your site. I'll post some of my best Herc shots for the enjoyment (I hope) of other members and am always glad to hear from other aviation buffs, even those who aren't quite sure just what a "herc" is!
best regards,
Gary
