Senior Packaging/Logistics Engineer

Redondo Beach, CA

Description

Senior Packaging Engineer to support both Military and commercial aerospace logistic operations: perform cushion design analysis, design shipping containers and handling fixtures, perform transportability studies, develop transportation plans, prepare aircraft load plans, lead complex logistics operations, mentor and train junior Packaging Engineers, and be willing to travel.

Required skills

BA/BS in Packaging Technical/Engineering or equivalent 4 year degree, plus five years experience. CFR 49, IATA, and AFJMAN 24-204 dangerous goods and hazardous materials transportation regulations certification is desired. A Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-304, MIL-STD-1791, MIL-STD-2073, and MIL-STD-9024 is required. Candidate needs a strong background in shipping container and handling fixture design, and be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, & Visio. Must possess strong communicative, organizational, and leadership skills. EBI Security Clearance Required.
