On his arrival home he found his wife in the embrace of another man. Furious, he left the house, took a room at the local hotel, and announced that he would apply for a divorce. The next day his father-in-law called to try to smooth things over. “I’m quite sure my daughter has and explanation for her behavior,†he said. “Look here, will you wait until tomorrow before you do anything about the divorce?†Reluctantly the husband agreed.
