"We have a lot of spirit in the Clear Fork Valley and are very excited to have this," Banks said after the dedication. "We are vey proud of our military people who are in our military out here at the 179th and all over the world. To have this named after the valley is just a very proud moment for Bellville and Butler and all the valley." The title "Spirit of Clear Fork Valley" was painted over the aircrew door, and beneath the name is an Air Force Outstanding Unit ribbon that the wing has been awarded on numerous occasions. Several special guests attended the ceremony representing both Bellville and Butler, including Butler Mayor Kevin Carr. Guests learned a bit of history about the aircraft and even toured the versatile aircraft, which become the main tactical airlifting aircraft for nearly 60 countries worldwide. In July, the 179th Airlift Wing dedicated one of its C-130 — aircraft 83-0488 — as the "Spirit of Mansfield" during 2014 Mansfield Lahm Airport Day festivities. view original article: http://www.mansfieldnewsjournal.com/story/news/local/2014/10/16/c-h-dedicated-spirit-clear-fork-valley/17381255/
