Hello,

I just joined the forums, and I have a research question. Does anyone know the current aircraft roster for the 105th AS, TN ANG out of Nashville? They were scheduled to lose their aircraft in the last BRAC, but are now tasked with training non-USAF crews (I believe?), and did lose their C-130Hs. I know they now have some WC-130Hs (64-14861, 65-0963, 65-0966, 65-0968, and 65-0984). I can't find any confirmation of any other airframes. Can anyone help?

Also, are there any good online sources for the current rosters of other ANG units? I've found a few that are out of date, and at least one that you can search by airframe, but I haven't been able to find any up to date sites that you can search by unit.

Thanks for your help!

Mike

At Nashville WC130H

65-14861; 65-0963, 966, 968, 980, 984

C-130H

89-1181, 1182, 1183, 1185, 1185

Did you mean a roster of all ANG units, or a roster of all ANG unit aircraft?

All units are listed on this site. Or in Lars Olausson's book

All the aircraft are listed in the Inventory on this site, you would have to download it and sort it. or again in Lars Olausson's book

Bob,

Thank you very much for the reply. I didn't realize that the 105th had kept some of their C-130Hs. What little information I had found indicated that all of the prior airframes had been reallocated.

As far as rosters, I was looking for rosters of assigned airframes for the various ANG units (Hercs and other types). I did find the very helpful production list on this site - tremendous resource! I don't know that there is an actual website that lists the aircraft assigned to each unit, I was just hoping that if there was one, someone on the site might know about it.

Thanks again for your help!

Mike

I would like to know how Nashville managed to hold on to 5 A/C that were BRACed. They are getting a new sim to support their schoolhouse mission. Would it not make sense to move those 5 A/C to Dobbins and continue the schoolhouse there? Put a sim in the empty bay instead of wasting money duplicating the personnel it will require to run another sim. All their international pilots could do their sim at Dobbins then head to Nashville to fly the WC's.

Who is going to train Guard/Reserve crews in a few years when active duty has all J models? I would like to be a fly on the wall when these decisions are made. When all is said and done my prediction is that the Guard will train all H model crews for the Guard and Reserves. Once again the Reserves will be left begging for slots to train their crews. Now they will be at the mercy of big brother and the Guard. Not that the Guard is a bad thing. They know how to play the game and flex their muscle when need be. Gotta love em'.

Please don't think that I am Guard bashing. Just trying to figure out what is going to happen to the Guard/Reserve training in the next few years. I know the old saying that " If it makes sense then it ain't what the Govt' is going to do." Hope someone can lend some insight. Some crazy times ahead for both Guard and Reserves when it comes to getting our crews trained.

From what I can gather, they've centralized all basic aircrew training at Lackland. From there, students go to another base for their respective airframe training. I think C-130 wise it's between the Little Rock ANG and the 62nd.

The Guard got an interesting "shot in the arm" in that they are supposed to be the first to stand up the AMP airplanes. I'm not sure if 100% of AMP crews will have to go there for retraining or just the Instructor Cadre.

As for the whole Dobbins/ Nashville issue, I just don't understand that.
