Guest
All, I am currently developing a C-130 database for the site and would like to share what I have accomplished this far with our members. Ideas, inspiration and data for the project have come from 3 sources: Lars Olausson's "Lockheed Hercules Production List", Bob Daley's "C-130 Inventory Listing" and F-16.net's "Aircraft Database." "Thank you" to each. Progress thus far: Created database to house info relating to each aircraft.Created basic data entry form.Created basic database search (located on each database page.)Created search results page. Lists original and current info for each match by Lockheed Production Number (LPN)LPN "details" link links to individual aircraft page. [*]Created framework for individual aircraft pages. Aircraft Image and link to aircraft Gallery imagesGenerates bb code to link to page from forumsAircraft history [*]Loaded partial info for 59 aircraft for testing (50 A, 2 B, 2 E, 2 H, and 3 J) [*]Created basic Index page (still very rough.) Check it out and feel free to provide feedback. Please remember that aircraft entries are very limited and that testing/development are ongoing. Index page: http://www.herkybirds.com/acftdb/index.php Sample aircraft page: 3001

Jansen
I'd suggest fields for Hex Codes and SELCALs. That way the spotters can join in the fun. Are you planning for it to be open, like a wiki, or updated by a few registered users, like rzjets.net?

Hex codes are broadcast by aircraft with Mode-S transponders. This allows anybody with a receiver to track them. SELCALs are a code you enter which allows you to ring an aircraft so you can talk to them.
