bobdaley
64-14859 4082 Which started life as an HC-130H and became an EC-130H then was demoded and became a C-130H later renamed a C-130E by Robins was flying as a hack, pilot pro, aircraft at Moldyhole brfore it went into the Boneyard. It was pulled out of the Boneyard and there have been no confirmed reports of it since. Two rumors were it was a hack at D-M and that it was going to Waco to be reconverted to an EC-130H. Can anyone confirm its where abouts? Thanks Bob
Max Power
It's at Waco right now. They pulled it out of the Boneyard and put it on the Whiskey Ramp during the runway closure to get it prepped to head out to the depot at Waco. Guest
When is Compass Call getting J's? Why pull a plane out of the bone yard if they will get J's in 4 or 5 years?
Lkuest
5 years is the magic number for following the Depot cycle, unless they started converting to the new high-tempo cycle they've been talking about. It might also have the beefed-up wing boxes that would last the rest of the flight-hours necessary to allow the H fleet to make the C-130J conversion. If they project the H-fleet will not last until J's come on-line, it would make sense to add another one or two to the fleet to reduce fleet attrition. The J line keeps getting backed up too. I can find a few reasons to use it.
