SAIF Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Hello guy, I have some problem about TRU. No 1 TRU burn during start. After investigation, I found sign of burn at terminal plug output 28 VDC. We do the wiring check and found all the input and output voltage according the limitation. I study all the defect before this and found that the burn happen while transition from engine generator to TRU. Did you have any idea of this matter? tusker Posted March 30, 2012 Share Posted March 30, 2012 are our Hercules getting that weak!!!....I do not remember any TRU's in my time, ,....We were talking about Inverters but TRU's!!!...............Transformer Rectifier Units!!!!!..........I must be getting old !!!....Change the battery...or ventilate the TRU's........Do something!!! Don't you have an air starter!........i.LL Wait fot the hot shots to go on this thread.....Some of them are very good!!................pulling too much DC!!!! SEFEGeorge Posted March 31, 2012 Share Posted March 31, 2012 Tusker, Trans-Rec were on B's an up - 2 Ess DC bus and 2 Main DC bus. If I remember correctly they were mounted just forward of the flight deck ladder. It's been 26 years since I stepped into a Herc. But damn sure still miss it. Maybe even the 5 hour pilot pros.
