Is there a reason that the 62-18xx planes seem to have been modified so often compared to other year E models? For instance at Rhein Main we had 62-1819, 62-1822, 62, 1828 that where all highly modified and may as well have been EC-130's. Then there where a bunch that where EC's, and some ABCCC's. To me it seems that the 62-18 planes are some of the most modified 130's. Is it just me thinking this or where they modified more often and if so, why them?

On my C130-30H, Whenever the heading and coupled button is selected on the autopilot controller the computer flag display on the ADI and also on the annouciatior panel light illuminates. We've exhausted all the steps the maintenance manual stated and yet rectification was not successful. We've been on this rectification process for some days now. Any solution from this forum will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys, I’m having a hard time figuring this one out. My utility system is hanging up on diverting pressure. Booster will fall to 1300 immediately at flaps above 15. Utility will stay at 3000 for about 5 seconds before starting its drop to 1300. Boost light is indicating as it should. Swapped the whole panel with a new one and still happening. So far I’ve replaced all hydraulic components on both panels and no change. Also of note. The first cycles of flaps they are working identically with no issues, but the more cycles they start to separate in pressure drop. Ultimately leading to utility panel staying an extra 5 seconds. any help would be appreciated

Hi everyone, I’d like to open a discussion regarding an issue we recently experienced on a C-130H. During taxi, No. 3 and No. 4 engines bogged down/decayed and eventually flamed out. Both engines were operating at LSGI at the time. No cockpit indications showed abnormalities prior to the event. I’m looking for insights on probable causes. One factor I’m considering is the wind effect—specifically a tailwind or a sudden increase/decrease in wind entering the inlet, which could disturb compressor airflow. At LSGI, the compressor stall margin is already low, so any airflow disruption might affect the air/fuel ratio enough to cause decay or flameout. Add…

During starting while no2&3 eng running, after switch off hyd pump switch low press worning light goes on but press shows 2200psi on booster press indicator. With no 3eng shutdown press goes zero. Its for C-130B ac. Any suggestion please

Hello to everyone I have a question related to landing gear uplock or brake assembly Question: In landing gear systems that utilize an uplock or uplock brake assembly, the uplock is typically released using hydraulic pressure during gear extension. What would happen if, during the transition of the landing gear from the up to the down position, either the circuit breaker (CB) trips or hydraulic pressure is lost? Would this cause the uplock brake to stop the landing gear in an intermediate position, or would the gear continue to extend fully?.

I read some manual written as "CDS(breakaway) - Position both anchor cable stops at LS1173 and wrap with tape." I know generally both anchor cable stops position is different. Is it correct to position stops same? If so, what's the reason?

Hello everyone and happy new year, I would like to know if there are many nations that preserve propellers on aircraft. If so, what are the deadlines? How long, can we leave a propeller on an immobilized aircraft without preserving it? ASB 157 is used for the return to service of the blades, maybe you use other documentation? If so, which one? After installation of prop assy on the prop shaft, the propeller turn in opposite direction. 1) Magnetics plugs checks on Gearbox but they are perfect, no traces of metal particles. 2) To be sure, we had fushed the gearbox : after this operation, the prop brake works by manual action. 3) On the other hand during the runnup, the prop brake no longer works. 4) The magnetic plugs are still correct. Why did the prop brake work after flushing ? But no longer work after ? What is the cause or problem with the brake ? Thank u in advance for your answer...

Looking for maintainers who have seen the twisting and buckling on the Nacelle Heat Shroud/shields, NP2000 equipped aircraft. In the horse collar area near the wing front beam .I am a Quality Inspector and we are seeing more of these in Depot. At first a few, now all the aircraft in the past few months come in with this. Saw it on a few C-130s equipped with the 54H60 prop but this was usually due to an over torque condition. And not all four engines at once. See pics attached. Any feedback welcome. This is one of the first aircraft equiped with the NP2000. All four are like this.

Hello friends, while flying on INS LTN-92 (which updates its position through GPS) after 15 minutes of flight, aircraft ANP exceeds limit of RNP in cruise. What may be the probable causes??? Why system generates so much drift in just 15 minutes??

Hye guys. Looks like im having some trouble regard my fuel gov and pitch lock cx. The propeller was not overshoot to 103.5% or even more when fuel gov switch been actuated. From that, for sure propeller will not pitch lock. Engine parameters during take off power and fuel gov switch actuated was as below : TQ : 17K RPM : 99.6% TIT : 1078 FF : 2.2 Rectification been carried out as below: 1. FCU worm shaft adjusted (increase almost 6 turns) 2. Synchrophaser replacement 3. Pitch lock regulator and packing replaced. 4. FCU replaced. yet, all those thing been carried out. Hey guys, I have a question I’m hoping someone knows an answer to. I have a plane that’s pressure drops when ground test valve is tied and elevator is on its stop. Sits at about 2600 and the longer it sits it drops to 2200. We figured it was the elevator compensator letting fluid through. We changed it. Same issue only now we noticed the temp when running our aux pump is getting very hot. We will change the aux pump. I guess my question is why would the pump be doing this only in those conditions? thanks for any help!

When changing the GTC mounts are the isolators that are mounted in rods fitted dry or are the installed wet with PS870 or Primer. Bolts are installed with CPC naturally.

Why is the C130 waterline starting point 105.4 inches? Why isn't it calculated from 0 inches from the ground, like the cargo compartment floor waterline being 146 and the cockpit being 200?

Please i need help. We recently encountered an uncommanded movement of the #4 engine throttle lever from ground idle to just before the gate of flight idle. We checked and confirmed that the cable tension is ok. We also cleaned and greased all bell-cranks. Yet, the problem persists. Once the throttle is moved from the ground idle, it creeps forward until it reaches the gate of flight idle. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
