Fuel Leak in Flight

Recommended Posts

Has anybody experienced fuel leak that occurs only in flight but not on ground. Our C130H recently leaked fuel from the No2 Main Tank, trailing edge of the wing. I attached a video showing the leak.

good morning sir, ask the flight crew if they were pumping out of the external tanks when this happened and also i believe the apu fuel is a direct feed from # 2 main tank check recent maint. on both and look at plumbing. a clogged or fowl vent on # 2 main also creates problems good luck frank

You need to reproduce this leak on the ground.  If you are transfering gas from every tank on the ground and not getting a leak, you might have a crack on the trailing edge of your wing!

Max out your tanks on the ground and transfer fuel until you find a leak.  You can jump up and down on wings to try and replicate wing bending.

recommend you dont fly that plane until you find it

Also recommend contacting Robins AFB engineers to assist you!
