cannoncd
Hi all, I'm not a C-130 bubba, but I did fly on P-3's back in the day. I'm on the civilian side and looking a for a bit of knowledge from Herc pilots/maintainers. I've been reading through some maintenance documents particular to the exterior lighting system. The TO references aircraft modified by TO 1C-130-1167, which is a retrofit adding strobes to the anti-collision lights. I'm curious if this was a widespread retrofit and non-strobe ACLs are the exception, or it was only applied in a limited fashion. Any info would help...cheers and happy holidays! n1dp
Most military Herks had the mods. 1980s I recall. Belly strobe was tagged out on the ground because of brightness. Had to hit some override switch to test on preflight.
cannoncd
Interesting. Thanks! It appears as if only the top strobe has dimming functionality. Any ideas why they wouldn't include that on the belly strobe?
