dawson Posted April 6, 2009 Share Posted April 6, 2009 Yes that's a C-46. They could haul a larger payload than a C-47. The Air-Force -Commandoes were using them in the early sixties. Also the commandoes were using modified B-26's. We would see them in Panama, Howard, AFB; on FT. Kobee. The 463rd rotated 6-aircrat there in support of the Southern Command. Other outfits rotated the assignment along with the 463rd. Some of the best duty ever. The Airforce chow hall traded the army non-perishables items for their perishables items, my we did eat well.
